Display of the body of Saint Anthony

For a whole week (15th - 20th February) pilgrims and devotees can worship the mortal remains of St. Anthony inside the Treasury Chapel at the Basilica of St. Anthony. Read here for more details.

This event occures just after the restauration works inside the Basilica of St.Anthony and mainly at the Chapel of the Saint and his tomb. Thus, before moving from St.James' Chapel to the Chapel of St. Anthony, the body of Saint Anthony, settled in the crystal urn, will be placed in the Treasury Chapel, behind the Main Altar.
The only previous exposition came 29 years ago, on January 1981 and it was also a canonical and medical-scientific survey.

>>>> Febrary 20th the visiting hours for today are from 6.15sm to 8pm.
>>>> February 21st: On this Sunday it is celebrated the Feast for the tranfer of the relics of the Saint, known also as Feast of the tongue because it commemorates the discovery of the uncorrupted tongue of the Saint.

At 11am Solemn Holy Mass presided by the Pontifical Delegate of the Basilica.

At 5pm Solemn Holy mass presided by the Provincial Superior of the friars, Gianni Cappelletto.

At the end of the Holy Mass of 5pm there is the procession with the relic of the Chin of Saint Anthony, inside the Basilica. The celebration of the Holy Mass at 6pm is suspended.
