Parco Etnografico di Rubano

Parco Etnografico di Rubano

The Parco Etnografico di Rubano is a green lung in the suburbs a few km west of the center of Padova. It has large fields, a small wood and a 10-hectare lake, all of which provide a habitat for a wide variety of plants and animals. There is also an ethnographic museum housed in a traditional Veneto country home, a teaching farm, a traditional oven for baking, a restaurant and a community vegetable garden. Originally a sand quarry, the natural ecosystem was restored thanks to reforestation efforts and the creation of a swamp area.
These resources allow the Parco Etnografico to promote environmental protection and a culture sustainable development as well as the importance of tradition, local rooting and respect for others.
In addition to serving as a successful example of environmental protection, the Parco Etnografico also offers social and cultural services from environmental education to guided visits, from Scout activities to hosting various events.
As of July 2010, the Parco is being managed by ATI PARCO 4.
