ORAZIO AND GIULIA CENTANIN HEAT ENGINES MUSEUM

THE MUSEUM IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED. IT WILL REOPEN ON A DATE TO BE DESTINED

This is a museum of the Province of Padua.

It is a private collection of ancient heat engines donated by Professor Orazio Centanin and enriched over the years with other tools. They are mainly steam equipment used in agriculture, from the late nineteenth century to the early twentieth, to reclaim wetlands and make it cultivable. In addition to heat engines there are also two large diesel engines, gift of Bonifica Adige Bacchiglione Consortium and used in pumping stations of Ca' Bianca (Chioggia) and Acquanera (Pernumia): their function was to evacuate the accumulated water in the rainy season or after floods.
