Diese Ausstellung – das Tagebuch einer Reise nach Amerika<\/b> – ist die Entdeckung oder besser die Wiederentdeckung einer Welt, die so oft imaginiert, aber gleichzeitig so stark repr\u00e4sentiert wurde, dass sie fast vertraut erscheint. <\/p>\n

Die Bilder von Massimo Sormonta – ausgestellt in der Black Light Gallery – entstanden im Sommer 1981, von New Orleans nach New York, aber die Reise begann viel fr\u00fcher, in Rio, entlang von Bahngleisen, Buslinien, Flugzeughimmeln, bis nach New York und dann weiter nach Caracas, wo Sormonta die Fotografie als Handwerk und Lebenswahl lernte. Die amerikanischen Fotos waren die erste vollendete Arbeit und das erste Puzzlest\u00fcck eines Projekts, das aus Tausenden von Bildern besteht und das er „V\u00f6lkermarsch<\/b>“ nannte. Mit „V\u00f6lkermarsch“ hat der Autor eine Armee von K\u00f6rpern zusammengebracht; junge, alte, sch\u00f6ne, h\u00e4ssliche, gesunde oder kranke, traurige oder fr\u00f6hliche, die marschieren oder besser gesagt gehen. Sormonta versuchte, sie als Seelen aus der Menge herauszustellen, voller pers\u00f6nlicher Geschichten, die er mit Zuneigung, wenn nicht gar Liebe, ohne moralische oder wertende Urteile darstellen wollte. Ein Blick, sein Blick, kein entomologischer, bereit, einen Katalogstachel in seine Passanten zu stechen, sondern mitf\u00fchlend, in seiner Bedeutung des Teilens von Leidenschaft, Schmerz und Lebensfreude.<\/p>\n
