They are returning to Italy, and finally returning in particular to the Piccolo Teatro di Padova (on Via Asolo, Paltana area), the “Creedence Clearwater Revived” of Johnny “Guitar” Williamson: they will perform on Thursday November 13 at 9 PM, with a concert from the 2025/2026 European tour in theaters and clubs, to make up for the date of April 3rd, which was canceled due to a serious injury to singer Bernie Southern.
The band led by Williamson, very loved in our city (where they return to perform as soon as possible, being distributed throughout the peninsula by the Padovan Tempi e Ritmi) has been bringing back the emotions, suggestions, and sounds of the legendary and disbanded Californian band, Creedence Clearwater Revival, for over thirty years, which from Woodstock onwards marked an era, with all their worldwide hit songs, before reaching the premature endpoint in the seventies due to the artistic separation of the two founders, the Fogerty brothers.
A group of super musicians, these Creedence Clearwater “Revived,” have in their setlist, in addition to many iconic and legendary tracks (from “Proud Mary” to “Molina,” from “Green River” to “Have you ever seen the rain”), high mythic songs by John Fogerty that were sometimes sacrificed in concerts due to time constraints, and have also been reintroduced in the new live CD “Big Wheel Keep on Turnin'” released last June.
The concert will be opened by the “Davide Pomponio Trio,” the Padovan guitarist who will present a lively setlist of tracks with his rock trio, while awaiting the performance of the CCRevived.
