On March 7, 2004, many things happened in the world. Among them, Matteo and Edoardo turned 15 and began their first day of high school. Matteo and Edoardo are both people with Down syndrome, and the start of high school often marks the moment they are forced to acknowledge their differences; kids at that age can be cruel. It’s a cannonball in their chests, the day they break, they divide, and they begin a long journey in search of that other half that can restore completeness to their lives. But sooner or later, we all get hit by a cannonball; we all break. When a love ends, when our father dies. Sooner or later, we all find ourselves split in two, torn between good and bad, in the certainty that sooner or later our parts will reunite. Inspired by The Half Viscount, this show, which integrates actors with Down syndrome with actors without disabilities, tells the story of this search.<\/p>\n
