The city&#8217;s layout allowed Paduan nobles, who built magnificent villas and palaces here, to be at the center of city life while still being able to use the waterways to travel to the Brenta Riviera. Nestled between the charm of the canal and the tranquility of a highly prized English-style park, Palazzo Pisani De Lazara stands silent and discreet. <\/p>\n<p>Built in 1783 by the genius of Giannantonio Selva, a student of Canova, and later restored and redesigned in 1880 by Gabriele Benvenisti, the palace is the first manifestation of Neoclassicism in Padua and one of the first in Italy.
