His first graffiti work began appearing on the walls of Padua in the 1980s, and his art then expanded to include works combining <strong>canvas and everyday objects<\/strong> \u2013 a development fully reflected in his 2001 book <i>Lies<\/i>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1e32678 elementor-widget elementor-widget-image\" data-id=\"1e32678\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"image.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<figure class=\"wp-caption\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/www.turismopadova.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/riccrado_giacomel1.jpg\" class=\"attachment-large size-large wp-image-5332\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.turismopadova.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/riccrado_giacomel1.jpg 817w, https:\/\/www.turismopadova.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/riccrado_giacomel1-600x450.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.turismopadova.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/riccrado_giacomel1-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<figcaption class=\"widget-image-caption wp-caption-text\">Foto di Riccardo Giacometti<\/figcaption>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/figure>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9f7fca8 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"9f7fca8\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"western\" lang=\"en-GB\">The city has gradually come to recognise his art: <strong>from the first anthropomorphic figures to Japanese anime<\/strong> \u2013 such as Conan and Heidi \u2013 and characters taken from cartoons (for example, Snoopy), up to his use of <strong>black-outlined stencil<\/strong> to heighten the emotional expressivity of his figures.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"en-GB\">The walls of Padua have gradually acquired silhouettes of couples of lovers or perhaps the outlines of little girls reading. One figure that is omnipresent, however, is that of <strong>a man in a top hat<\/strong>, who might be playing with a cat or busy writing messages on a wall. This character has become <strong>the artist\u2019s alter ego<\/strong>, a symbol of his art.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"en-GB\">With his murals to be found both in the city centre and in its industrial zones, Kenny Random\u2019s works are now seen as <strong>part of the urban fabric<\/strong> \u2013 so much so that work to restructure buildings often involves procedures to save these wall paintings.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3bf81cf6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3bf81cf6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"western\" lang=\"en-GB\">In 2007 the Spazio Tindaci gallery in Padua held a one-man shop of K. Random\u2019s work, and in 2012 some were also displayed in Padua\u2019s San Gaetano Cultural Centre.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"en-GB\">In December 2012, he undertook the project entitled <i>The Gift<\/i>. This involved placing 32 of his works around the city and then using his Facebook page to give clues as to where they were: those who found them became their legitimate owners. In December 2013 he repeated the operation with <i>The Gift 2<\/i>.
