Bipersonal exhibition «Becoming of shapes and colors» by sculptor Manuel Silvestrin and painter Mara Barotti, June 12-26, at Porta San Giovanni (PD).

Re-editing reality into likenesses of one’s own, putting in place a path of knowledge, of self, of the environment, of the other, is something the sculptor puts into practice thanks to terracotta and refractory and semirefractory clay, and the chromatic possibilities of it, to the modeling of which he decided to devote study and practice from the beginning, in the early 2000s.

The fusion of the four elements in his work already represents a starting point for the artist, who adds to it the cubist decomposition into figures, solids, planes, sections, as if to return to the primary roots of the entities and an internal dynamism of a futurist matrix. The enamels, classical or water-based, acrylic, oil, always spread in basic, pure tones, almost never varied, also represent an affirmation of presence, to which is added the modeling with bold curves, concavities, convexities, imprints, grooves, gaps, which dominate the environment despite the contained but mighty dimensions of the representations.

The language fuses and contaminates archaic past and contemporary, prehistoric art to biblical and mythological figures, to purely fantastic creations, to the conceptual. Without neglecting the fundamental component of play, an essential piece to put in place an effective and profound communication between individuals.
