Galilean Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts Inaugural meeting will take place on Sunday 10 November at 10.30 am in the Sala del Guariento of the Accademia Galileiana.
Early on Sunday 10 November 2024 at 10.30 am the meeting room of the Carrarese Palace, the Galilean Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts in Padua will host the inaugural meeting of the CDXXVI academic year.
The prestigious cultural institution is governed by the President Giovanna Zaniolo, former professor of Comparative Anatomy and the first woman to direct the Galilean Academy, supported by the Vice President Gregorio Piaia – emeritus of History of Philosophy – and by the governing body composed of Maristella Agosti, Secretary of the Mathematical Sciences Class, Cesare Dosi, Secretary of the Moral Sciences Class, the Librarian Giorgetta Bonfiglio-Dosio, the Administrator Alberto Mirandola and the Conservator Vittorio Dal Piaz.
At the opening of the meeting, President Giovanna Zaniolo will illustrate the «Report on the activities carried out in the 20232024 academic year» and will proceed to award the academic diplomas to the new members.
This will be followed at 11.15 by the academic lecture Biology and Society in contemporary Italy by Gian Antonio Danieli, Full Member of the Galilean Academy.
In conclusion, a concert by Maestro Giacomo Dalla Libera will be held.
