Waiting to announce the new OPV Families&Kids 2025 playbill, on Sunday 2 March at the Teatro Verdi in Padua OPV will perform The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.
Sieva Borzak, Conductor.
Moreno Corà, Acting voice.
Paul Dukas: L’apprenti Sorcier.
A boy, grappling with his first experiment, without the supervision of the master sorcerer: what could possibly go wrong?
The author of this ancient story is one of the greatest European writers of all time, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, who in 1797 wrote a Ballade entitled The Sorcerer’s Apprentice that immediately became popular in Germany. A century later, French composer Paul Dukas composed the symphonic poem of the same name, which was adapted fifty years later for the silver screen by the genius of Walt Disney. Loosely inspired by Goethe’s Ballad, and in homage to Paul Dukas and Walt Disney, the performance features readings by actor Moreno Corà, interspersed with music performed live by the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto conducted by Sieva Borzak.
2 March 2025 – 4.00 p.m. Padua, Teatro Verdi.
Tickets: from € 6.00 to € 8.00 available on the website of the Teatro Stabile del Veneto.
