Padua once again becomes a stage for the great classical tradition with the XXXVII International Review of Ancient Classical Theatre “City of Padua”, scheduled from 21 to 26 May 2025 in the Albini Cloister of the Civic Museums at the Eremitani, starting at 6:30 pm. A historical and well-established appointment, which every year attracts those who have a passion for theatre and the curiosity to rediscover the power of myth and the ancient word.
The review, promoted by the Cultural Association Centro Studi Theatrical Studies Tito Livio, is held with the contribution of the Municipality of Padua – Department of Culture, the support of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Padua and Rovigo, and the patronage of the Veneto Region and the Province of Padua.
The programme includes a week of theatrical performances inspired by the great Greek and Latin classics, revisited with a contemporary sensibility by national and international companies, with special attention to the quality of the staging and the dissemination of classical culture among the new generations.
Admission is free, with a free donation in favour of the association “Volontà di Vivere – Noi e il cancro” (Will to Live – Us and Cancer), which for years has been committed to supporting women affected by breast cancer and promoting cancer prevention.
