‘Engineer for a day’ is the six-monthly appointment (one edition in autumn, one in spring) organised by the Società Veneta Ferrovie aps in collaboration with the Museo Veneto del Giocattolo and the Fondazione OIC onlus.
It is the ideal opportunity for enthusiasts of all ages to get closer to the world of trains and model railways, being able to visit the large collection of locomotives, passenger wagons and goods wagons in different scales (1, 0, H0 and N) and see the three large models on permanent display in the halls of the Museo Veneto del Giocattolo (one with models dating back to 1910 operating on alternating current with three rails, one in analogue direct current from the 1980s and one with digital operation, the new trend in independent control of several trains on the same track).
During the day, it will of course be possible to drive different types of trainsets provided by the organisation, but also to run personally owned equipment (subject to technical verification by the staff).
For organisational reasons, the driving of the convoys will be handled by the number machine provided on site by the organisers. It is also already possible to book your priority seat using the appropriate link on the Eventbrite platform.
Sunday 17 November 2024 from 9.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. Admission is free of charge.
