After last year’s success, Wednesday 9 April at 11.30 a.m. in the Sala Paladin at Palazzo Moroni will be officially inaugurated the 3rd edition of the exhibition ‘I Segni dell’anima’ (Signs of the Soul) dedicated to the suggestions of nature, told by sounds and colours, lights and shadows that become a metaphor of our existence and a place of rebirth within which we sometimes lose ourselves and find ourselves again.
The initiative brings together the works of the inmates involved in the I Suoni della Bellezza (Sounds of Beauty) project, a workshop conceived by Maestro Nicola Guerini, which enhances the perceptive path through listening to music: a listening that generates signs and creative narratives fixed on sheets of paper with the use of colours. These are signs that speak of pain, of failure but also of emotion and smiles that light up like lights on the sheet, becoming imprints of a rebirth.
Guerini, an orchestra conductor and active popularizer, has for years promoted listening to music as an immersive experience in penal institutions, stimulating not only the emotional and instinctive dimension of the prisoner, but also involving him in an introspective approach based on understanding and internalising the re-educational path experienced in prison.
The project, under the aegis of the Rotary Club Verona and in collaboration with Inner Wheel Padua, has become a protocol with the Padua Board of Corrections (2021) for 16 penitentiary institutes in the Triveneto region.
The exhibition was curated by Silvia Prelz, Maurizio Longhin and Guerini himself, in collaboration with Maurizio Bruno.
The initiative is promoted by the Culture Department of the Municipality of Padua, with the patronage of the Provveditorato dell’Amministrazione Penitenziaria del Triveneto, the Unesco Club, and the support of the Rotary Club Verona and Inner Wheel Club Padua, of Verona and Abano Terme – Montegrotto Terme.
