Sportorienta, the project set up to promote sport among the youth of Arcella and Pontevigodarzere, celebrates two years of activity with a special event: Community Christmas. An afternoon of workshops, music and gifts to celebrate the milestones achieved and strengthen the bond with the community.
The party will be held on Saturday 14 December 2024 starting at 15:00 in Largo Debussy. Organised by local associations, with the facilitation of the PRISMA Service and financed by the Participatory Budget – Council 2 North, the event is an opportunity to recognise the commitment of young participants and share the educational values of sport.
A project for the future of young people
Sportorienta was created to address the challenges many young people face in accessing sport. The project offered 12 free meetings between October and December, involving girls and boys aged 11 to 14 in sports such as basketball, volleyball, football, boxing, martial arts and Nordic walking. The activities, carried out both in the gym and outdoors, allowed participants to discover passions, develop skills and build positive relationships with adult reference figures. Sportorienta acts as a gateway to the world of sport, promoting physical activity and fundamental values such as fair play, mutual respect and cooperation. By collaborating with local sports associations, the project facilitates contact between families and sports clubs, with the aim of improving the quality of life of young people in the neighbourhood and contributing to their individual growth.
Community Christmas: the programme
To crown the Sportorienta activities, a special day open to the entire community is organised, a time of celebration and sharing with many activities for young and old alike:
– 3 p.m.: Workshop to create decorations.
– 3.30 p.m.: Concert by the Sbilf, an orchestra of local middle school boys and girls.
– 4.30 p.m.: Award ceremony for the young participants of the Sportorienta project.
– 5 p.m.: Arrival of Father Christmas with the delivery of gifts generously collected by the associations and their affiliates.
– 5.30 p.m.: Hot chocolate offered to all present.
