After the successes of the first three editions, the Festival dedicated to the classical guitar returns to Padua from 7 to 15 September.
The fourth edition offers a week of solo and chamber concerts, meetings, debates, lessons, the production of new music and new research in the field of composition and violin making.
The great David Russell, darling of the Festival, will inaugurate this fourth edition as usual with a concert at the Sala dei Giganti, while at Barco Teatro the Czech guitarist Pavel Steidl, one of the greatest exponents of the 19th century guitar, will perform at the Duo Maccari- Pugliese, also a reference for the nineteenth-century repertoire for duo and the Argentine guitarist Pablo Marquez, among the most versatile and refined protagonists of the world guitar.
Two conferences at the Barco with free admission, one on the themes of historical violin making held by the master luthier Gabriele Lodi with a demonstration of the historical instruments from the Touch the sound Project collection by the guitarist Enrica Savigni, the other on the themes of composition for guitar, protagonists the composers Stephen Goss, Francesco Antonioni, Carlo Galante and the musicologist Marco Riboni.
The group of selected students who will participate in the masterclasses campus will hold the final concert at Barco Teatro with free admission at the end of which a scholarship will be awarded to the best student.
The Festival is organized under the artistic direction of Giacomo Susani and organizational direction of Barco Teatro.
