With the support of the Department of Culture of the City of Padua and Cesp (Center for Studies for the Public School of Veneto), from June 19 to July 20 the exhibition spaces of the former Scuderie di Palazzo Moroni will host Alessandro Punzo’s exhibition “Come iride – Dream in lockdown”.

Some 20 medium-large works will be on display, as well as three Murano glass sculptures and a fourth in which glass plays a significant part. The techniques used are those of photography, glass art, graphics, and painting.

The exhibition, curated by Walter Ponchia, conceived in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, recounts the artist’s attempt to break that time of constriction and loneliness through dreaming, as a form of escape from an anguished present that looks to a dark future.

“Come iride – Dream in lockdown” is a refined intellectual game where multiple arts, photography, graphic design, painting and that of glass, come together in a perfect synthesis of beauty and essentiality. A journey, between the real and the dream, that from the seas of Malaysia lands in Venice, and then seems to depart from there.

Neapolitan, Alessandro Punzo lives and works in Padua. He has held numerous solo exhibitions both in Padua and nationwide, also the result of his travels between India, Nepal and Madagascar.
