KIND OF BILLS TRIBUTE TO BILL EVANS
Tributes are usually reserved for those who are no longer with us, and celebrated jazz pianist Bill Evans passed away on September 15, 1980, a day of great sadness for musicians and jazz enthusiasts.
However, his music and spirit are still alive, and the “Kind of Bill” project aims to celebrate this timelessness of his message and legacy.
The title of the tribute itself, “Kind of Bill”, taken from a song by Joe La Barbera, perfectly captures the purpose of the project conceived by pianist Dado Moroni.
Moroni, along with bassist Eddie Gomez and drummer Joe La Barbera, has always shown his deep love for Evans‘ music, contributing greatly to keeping his memory alive and renewing his musical ideas over the years.
Thus, “Kind of Bill” is also a tribute to them for their continued commitment to preserving the magic of Evans‘ music through their projects.
