Antonio Pedrocchi’s dream is to make « the most beautiful coffee on earth », but this drink, now so widespread, has a complex and intriguing history, full of mysteries, legends, anecdotes, even anathemas against a use that in the early days it distanced men from the home. Leading us on this journey to the East first and then to the European capitals will be a female figure, an Arab who we will discover is the « aroma », the essence of coffee. From the East to Venice, from Paris to London, coffee will allow the actors of teatrOrtaet to transform into the many characters that dot this story. A story, that of coffee, which unfolds between the 15th and 18th centuries, between coffee shops and cups of coffee, between newspapers and sugar cubes, between conspiracies and scenes of domestic life.
