The Piano Festival is a tribute to the innovative genius Bartolomeo Cristofori, born in Padua on 4 May 1655, who was able to masterfully combine art and technology and « make the heart speak on the instruments, now with the delicate touch of an angel, now with violent irruption of passions ».
Cristofori was one of the most famous and important harpsichord makers of his time.
Personally invited by Grand Prince Ferdinando de’ Medici, he invented the first piano model at the Medici court, revolutionizing the history of music.
The Festival takes place in various places in the city from the Verdi Theater to the Scuola della Carità passing through Palazzo Papafava, the Hall of Giants at Liviano and Barco Theatre.

Various musical ensembles will be part of the live performance:
Orchestra of Padua and Veneto directed by Marco Angius, Quartetto Werther, Gabriel Prokofiev and Massimo Sacchetto, Ensemble Vivaldi de I Solisti Veneti, Luca Dondi and Luca Talassi, Thomas Tosato.
