Animated tours of the Pedrocchi factory – Antonio Pedrocchi’s Happy Island

The discovery of the main floor of the “Pedrocchi Establishment” moves from the dimension of storytelling and anecdote to a dive into the marvelous “time machine” hidden within the historic Paduan café. From the lions in the square, you ascend the imposing staircase in the vestibule, then pass through the various rooms, changing styles, eras, and atmospheres.
The animated tour recalls the life of coffee maker Antonio Pedrocchi, who commissioned architect Giuseppe Jappelli to make “the most beautiful coffee on earth.” It also recalls the opening of the ground-floor rooms on June 9, 1831, the completion of the Pedrocchi factory in 1842, and Antonio’s death in 1852, recalling the glories of the Pedrocchi factory and the history of the historic café. The story is peppered with poems and newspaper articles, encounters and clashes, envy and success, all paid dearly for by the honest coffee maker with a lifetime of work.
