The University Center for the history of the Resistance and the contemporary age of the University of Padua is organizing a meeting on Monday 27 January 2025 at 10:00 am in the Aula Magna of Palazzo Bo, on the occasion of the day of remembrance.

During the morning Gadi Luzzatto Voghera, director of the Contemporary Jewish Documentation Center Foundation (Milan), will hold a lectio magistralis, and the Hegel Trio will perform some musical pieces.

At the end of the last century, a historiographical reflection began on the meaning of the persecution and extermination of the Jews in the history of the European continent. The end of the bipolar world structure, combined with the discovery of new documentation and the start of the “witness era”, have contributed to producing legislative outcomes that have produced new and unprecedented memory policies. A quarter of a century later, in the face of profound changes in the political, social and cultural spheres, it is perhaps possible to draw a balance sheet of this experience and hypothesize plausible and practicable prospects.
