Thursday, June 12, at 6:00 p.m., at the Chiostro Albini at the Eremitani Museum in Padua, with a very special accordion recital, the new season of MUSICA AL MUSEO will be inaugurated, the summer festival of the Friends of Music of Padua organized in collaboration with Padova Musei Civici. Five concerts from June to September with a varied program, on a journey back from contemporary music to Renaissance melodies.
The opening concert is an accordion recital, an instrument rarely heard in chamber music concerts, and which is being proposed again after the success it had in the last season of Domenica in Musica. The accordionist GABRIELE CORSARO returns, who, having approached music at a very young age, immediately revealed a great talent. He has already performed at the Vatican Museums in Rome and has already recorded for Rai 5. In May 2023 he was chosen by the “Italian Accordion Culture” as the Italian representative in the Junior classic category of the “76th Coupe Mondiale” and won third prize. In the same year he won the 2023 National Arts Award. The original and innovative program of the concert opens with a sonata by Domenico Scarlatti, but then dances around unusual pages, composed however by some of the most important figures in contemporary music, such as the two Russian authors Sofia Gubajdulina, recently deceased, and Vladislav Zolotarev and the two Danes Ole Schmidt and Martin Lohse. To complete this journey into the world of the accordion, the music of Franck Angelis, French composer and accordionist (winner of the 1981 World Trophy) and the Italian Raffaele Bellafronte. The concert was organized in collaboration with CIDIM (Comitato Italiano Nazionale Musica ETS).
