The program presents a very wide variety of styles, with the right mix of well-known pieces and composers, and works that for me are worth rediscovering and making known to the general public. After the two German compositions (the Sonata for horn and piano op. 17 by Beethoven, in the author’s cello version, and the Sonata op. 99 by Brahms, a pillar of the chamber repertoire) here are two composers of the twentieth century: Castelnuovo-Tedesco and Poulenc.
