From Jan. 16 to Feb. 1, 2025, the Magdalene Theater will host the second edition of the theater review ‘AngolAzioni – glimpses from the Paduan scene’. Organized in collaboration with the Department of Culture of the City of Padua and the Teatro Stabile del Veneto, the event will enliven the former church on Via San Giovanni di Verdara with six professional theater companies from Padua, known for their commitment to offering original and innovative works in the contemporary research scene.
The selection, curated by Paolo Caporello of Teatro Laterale, addresses central themes of our time: immigration, climate crisis, the world of work, identity, historical memory and metropolitan loneliness. ‘AngolAzioni’ is proposed as an opportunity for personal and collective growth, fostering inclusion and comparison of ideas and experiences to create a true community. The first show was Jan. 16 with ‘Binario Vivo’ (Production TOP-TEATRI OFF PADOVA), followed on Jan. 18 by ‘Stories in a Glass. Life and works of Ernest Hemingway’ (BELTEATRO Production). On Jan. 23, ‘My Body Is a Cage – Perfection Is a Fake and Makes You Crazy’ (CARICHI SOSPESI/COOP VITE VERE DOWN DADI Production) is on the schedule, while on Jan. 25, ‘Other Storms’ (ABRACALAM Production). On Jan. 30 the program includes ‘La Classe Estinta’ (Production company ANGRISANI) and on Feb. 1 the show closes with ‘Animali Notturni’ (Production TEATRO LATERALE).
