A vast fresco of musical styles and generations compared: in the program of the Padova Jazz Festival 2024 there is space for timeless glories (Billy Cobham), artists who are emerging with impetus on the international scene (Lakecia Benjamin, Pablo Held with Nelson Veras), musicians in full of their expressive maturity (Richard Bona, Anat Cohen, Donald Harrison, Jonathan Kreisberg, Mauro Ottolini), incredible talents in proportion to their very young age (Hakan Başar).
The stylistic panorama is equally varied, from historical fusion to the more solid post bop tradition (Rosario Giuliani with Pietro Lussu), from Brazilian sounds (As Madalenas) to innumerable and fertile combinations that bring even distant sound worlds into contact (Aliendee, Daniele di Bonaventura, Enrico Morello, Duo Hana).
The numerous stages of the festival stand out for their architectural peculiarities: from locations of historical importance such as the Teatro Verdi and its Sala del Ridotto, the Sala dei Giganti at Liviano, the Caffè Pedrocchi, the Centro Culturale Altinate/San Gaetano to the classrooms of University of Padua.
The Padova Jazz Festival is organized by the Miles Cultural Association chaired by Gabriella Piccolo Casiraghi, with the contribution of the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Municipality of Padua and the support of the Ministry of Culture.
