The journey to discover the hidden history and lesser-known places of the Portello neighborhood continues with the fourth stage of the Portello Segreto 2025 guided tour series, scheduled for Saturday 21 June at 10:30 am.

This stage will be dedicated to the ancient Via Annia, a fundamental artery of the Roman Patavium built in the 2nd century BC, which connected Adria to Aquileia, crossing Padua along a route that today overlaps with central streets such as via Umberto I, via VIII Febbraio, the Piazze della Frutta and delle Erbe.

Over the centuries, the Via Annia has represented much more than a simple commercial route: along its route we have witnessed the profound transition from pagan to Christian worship, with the transformation of temples into sacred places and the construction of churches on ancient necropolises. A route that intertwines the sacred and the profane, and which today becomes an opportunity to reflect on the continuity of memory and the changing but resistant identity of the Paduan territory.

During the guided tour, participants will be able to visit two symbolic places of the neighborhood: the Church of Ognissanti and the Church of San Massimo, buildings that testify to the religious and urban stratification of the city.

Reservations are required to participate.
