Castello Festival 2025 – PAOLO MIELI, I SOLISTI VENETI, GIULIANO CARELLA – The Geography of Sounds
Friday, July 18, 2025, at 21:15 – PIAZZA EREMITANI – Padua
In this event, making its absolute debut, the renowned journalist and essayist Paolo Mieli – a profound connoisseur of historical and political events – takes us on a journey through the 18th-century imagination inspired by various nations of the world, sketched and musically characterized, with great irony and surprising modernity, by Georg Philipp Telemann in his “Klingende Geographie.” The unpublished narrative of Paolo Mieli, accompanied by the geographic-musical itinerary immortalized in the 1700s by the great German composer, retraces the history and culture of various countries and their subsequent evolution. Mieli’s text and voice intertwine on the stage of the Castello Festival with the powerful and unmistakable sound of I Solisti Veneti conducted by Giuliano Carella.
