UNIQUE TICKET FOR THE EIGHT URBS PICTA SITES
From September you can visit the eight sites of Urbs Picta, Giotto’s Padua, which in 2021 became part of the Unesco Heritage, with just one single ticket.
The ticket can be purchased online at the dedicated website, or in paper copy at the various IAT points throughout the municipality.
Two different types of ticket are available: one for 48 hours, at 28 euros, or alternatively one valid for 72 hours at 35 euros. Each ticket allows only one entry to each of the eight Unesco sites within the hours of validity, as well as unlimited use of public transport to get around the city.
For citizens of the province of Padua, however, there is a special ticket: valid for six months, at a cost of 25 euros, which always allows one entry for each site but without using public transport.
NEW URBS PICTA APP
And to be guided in your visit to discover the frescoed cycles of the fourteenth century is now available a new application, conveniently downloadable on your mobile phone.
Padova Urbs Picta is the official smartphone app of the Municipality of Padua, which accompanies citizens and visitors to the sites of the World Heritage site, offering a rich experience of knowledge and fun to discover the masterpieces of Giotto and other artists of the fourteenth century. Thanks to the interaction of images, texts, maps, stories and music, the app can be a tool for enriching and guiding between the frescoed masterpieces and the places in the city that preserve them.
The main features of the Padova Urbs Picta app are the complete accessibility of the tool, thanks to the ability to view and listen to the narration of the content, and an interactive game proposal to enjoy specially created in-depth material.
The app was created for the municipal administration by Meeple, a start-up of the Università di Padova, also thanks to the support of the Regione Veneto and DoIt Reisen; the video footage was made by Lilium sound art; the English translations are by Caroline Clark, director of the Centro Linguistico di Ateneo dell’Università di Padova.
