An event dedicated to two musical masterpieces: Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings in C major – a composition dominated by a grace and sense of serenity rarely found in other works by the Russian maestro – and Mozart’s Symphony No. 40 in G minor, K. 550, one of the most intense and famous pieces of Viennese classicism.
Founded in October 1966, in almost 60 years of activity, the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto has established itself as one of Italy’s leading orchestras. The only concert and orchestral institution active in the Veneto region, the OPV performs around 130 concerts and operas each year, with its own season in Padua, concerts in the region and for the most important concert societies and festivals in Italy and abroad.
Luca Ballabio, conductor. In collaboration with the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, an initiative supported by the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo as part of the Notturni – L’estate musicale dell’Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto festival.
