Following the success of the past four editions, Barco Teatro is delighted to present the fifth edition of the “Homenaje” International Festival dedicated to classical guitar.
Internationally renowned guitarists and musicians will gather in the beautiful Barco Teatro venue, in the monumental heart of Padua, to bring to life an intense week of complementary and integrated events of artistic and cultural interest, focusing on classical guitar (concerts, conferences, exhibitions of historical instruments, masterclasses).
All events are mainly dedicated to registered students, but also involve the general public of classical music lovers and lovers of the instrument in particular, who can attend concerts and masterclasses (paid admission) and conferences (free admission).
Once again this year, with a view to promoting and expanding the guitar repertoire, Festival Homenaje has commissioned a new composition for guitar: the recipient is Italian composer Carlo Galante, whose piece, I asked a thief, written for guitar and voice, will be premiered during one of the concerts in the program.
During the Festival, students participate as true protagonists: in addition to having the opportunity to take two lessons with two different teachers of their choice, they participate in the final concert dedicated to them, with the opportunity to win the €1,000 Homenaje Scholarship, which will be awarded to the student who has participated most fully and profitably in all Festival activities.
In addition, they participate free of charge in the dinners offered by Barco Teatro at the end of each concert, which take place in the theater: these are unique opportunities to sit at the table with the protagonists of the concerts, to experience moments not only of conviviality but also of in-depth discussion with teachers such as David Russell, Stephen Goss, Lorenzo Micheli, and other protagonists of the Festival.
