Biancospina is a girl of marriageable age who wants the wedding of her dreams. Her days pass quietly between her dreams, reading her favourite fairy tale, lessons in deportment and working at the loom. All with a single goal: to be perfect for the Grand Ball of the season, the occasion that will change her destiny once and for all. Just like in fairy tales. But will everything go as she wishes? And, above all, how will “her” fairy tale end?
Straddling irony, dreams and awareness, loosely based on the fairy tale of Bluebeard, “The Good Wife’s Guide” is a modern story with a baroque flavour, a comedy that explores laughter, satire and inner life. It is a journey into social conventions, discovering what matters and what deceives, who we are and who we can become.
“La guida della buona sposa” (The Good Wife’s Guide) stems from a desire to talk about freedom. Freedom to choose, to make mistakes, to think, to be. The show unfolds with irony, lightness, a touch of social satire and a good dose of sincerity, telling us the story of the protagonist. A dramatic comedy combining prose, pantomime, shadow theatre, fairy tales and music, framed by fabrics and threads. Threads that move, change direction, determine and change the stage space. Threads of history, to be woven and then unravelled.
