Gianni Schicchi by G. Puccini – at the Sala dei Giganti in Padua
On Saturday, September 20th and Sunday, September 21st, 2025, at 5:30 pm, Giacomo Puccini’s opera Gianni Schicchi will be performed in the splendid Sala dei Giganti at the Liviano Theatre in Padua. The Venice Chamber Orchestra will conduct Maestro Nicola Simoni. The production will be directed by Maestro Pablo Maritano (free admission, reservations required).
A preview of the opera will be performed on Thursday, September 18, at 9 pm, at the Teatro Filarmonico in Piove di Sacco (Padua) with piano accompaniment (free admission).
Two international casts of artists will perform in Piove di Sacco and Padua: Gianni Schicchi will be played by Juneyeon Yoon.
The cast was selected as part of the 15th edition of the opera studio intenzionale, aimed at singers, directors, and accompanying masters. Over 30 artists from over 15 countries (Italy, China, South Korea, Hungary, Switzerland, Romania, the United Kingdom, Finland, Japan, Canada, the Czech Republic, and more) took part in this important project, which began last year in Padua.
The Opera Studio project, promoted by the Circolo della Lirica di Padova Aps, in collaboration with the Fondazione Ferrari Salimbeni of Venice, the Venice Chamber Orchestra, and the Artes Association, with the patronage of the Municipality of Padua, the Veneto Region, and the Province of Padua, has transformed the city into a crossroads of talent and cultures. A true international hotbed where diverse experiences, languages, and vocal traditions meet, united by a single passion: musical theater.
