The 69th Concert Season of the Amici della Musica di Padova will begin on October 14, 2025. As always, the season will feature prestigious names from the Italian and international music scene and will open with an inaugural concert by the great pianist Gerhard Oppitz, one of the most illustrious representatives of the Austro-German tradition. A previous guest of the Association, Oppitz returns with two composers dear to his heart, Franz Schubert and Franz Liszt. Oppitz’s concert is only the first in the “A Piano for Padua” series, reserved for pianistic excellence.
In addition to piano recitals, the 25/26 season offers a variety of chamber music ensembles, and alongside internationally renowned names and outstanding new talents, we find famous artists making their Italian or Paduan debut. The panorama of composers is very varied and spans from early and Baroque music to the great season of Viennese classicism (Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven), reaching the crucial transition between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, ranging from Brahms to the composers of the Second Viennese School.
Another recurring theme among the various programs is Eastern music, ranging from Eastern European folk and klezmer music to the great Czech and Moravian music with its integration into the classical tradition. Finally, this edition also gave significant space to early music.
