On Saturday, October 25 at 20:30 at Barco, an appointment with contemporary classical music: Ensemble degli Intrigati (a multi-instrumental group promoting a repertoire that captures the various inclinations of the most current languages) will perform with British trombonist and composer Alex Paxton, whose music is commissioned and performed by orchestras and musical groups of international standing: the program includes repertoire pieces and improvisations by Paxton himself.
One of the most interesting representatives of the avant-garde “maximalist music,” Paxton writes and plays “very happy” music (“The New York Times” describes it as the most joyous sound I’ve heard in ages): his compositions inhabit a colorful and chaotic universe, a sort of metaphor for the frantic intertwining of flows of people and information that a metropolis like London, where he studied and lived, experiences at every hour of the day and night.
Conductor Andrea Molino.
Listening introduction by Francesco Antonioni.
