With a series of unpublished works, amid the faded traces of a forgotten ghost town, Marco Salom returns to the “zero moment” from which his artistic language took shape.
Everything begins in California, in a suspended place where time seems to have retreated, leaving space for the memory of things. In the Mojave Desert, a hidden ghost town becomes the protagonist of a series of evocative images that, more than any other, represent the genesis of a new artistic language that has made Marco Salom one of the most original voices in the contemporary scene: Triple Layer Art.
His art, in fact, always originates from photography, but expands into a layered dimension, where image, algorithm, and matter merge into a unique and deeply personal vision; an exclusive technique that combines photography and digital post-production with the aid of artificial intelligence and painting (acrylic and 24k gold).
RAW is a project that originates from a meeting between the artist and the Padua gallery dedicated to contemporary photography and from the idea of sharing with the public the “original moment” in all its authenticity, from which this creative path takes shape.
In addition to the selection that inspired this exhibition, some of his most representative works will be displayed, portraying beautiful and courageous women who are protagonists in a futuristic universe where emotions, nature, and technology meet and transform. The photographic and contemporary art exhibition is complemented by a film projection created by the artist: a weave of light that invites the viewer to immerse themselves in his world.
His gaze, influenced by the cinema of Spike Jonze and Maria Schrader, translates reality into vision, documentation into narrative. His research explores the future of human relationships in the era of technological transformation.
A multifaceted artist, Salom was born as a director, visual artist, and producer, and has realized projects for Ligabue, Elisa, Skin, Marracash, Jovanotti, Negramaro, Cesare Cremonini, Club Dogo, Paolo Conte, Andrea Bocelli, among others.
Throughout his career, he has conceived and directed successful docufilms for major cinematic distribution and countless music videos, true experimental laboratories of visual language, where he honed his ability to merge music, image, and narrative into a single sensory experience.
Black Light Gallery is a space in the heart of Padua entirely dedicated to contemporary photography. Born just over a year ago from a project by Roberta Salmaso with the aim of bringing the public closer to the world of photography as a work of art, it works with both Italian and international artists. The artistic choice reflects the idea of offering the viewer a plurality of visions, prompting the search for new keys to understanding and new meanings of reality, creating connections with the cultural realities of the territory that are already active in the photographic field.
