While waiting for the evening at Verdi, on Saturday, November 22, the program of the Padova Jazz Festival also offers an afternoon listening session at Nuova Sant’Agnese/Fondazione Peruzzo (at 6:30 PM) with the trio featuring Antonio Zambrini (piano), Jesper Bodilsen (double bass), and Martin Maretti Andersen (drums).
Quietly (Mingus Records, 2023) is the third album by the trio formed in 2018 by Antonio Zambrini with Jesper Bodilsen and Martin Maretti Andersen. In it, the Italo-Danish trio creates a unique sound, overflowing with melancholy and nostalgia, demonstrating an impressive sense of unity.
The Milanese pianist Antonio Zambrini is the author of original pieces that have been so appreciated that they have been covered by many jazz colleagues (Lee Konitz, Rita Marcotulli, Stefano Bollani, Eliot Zigmund, Maria Pia De Vito…).
In Denmark, Jesper Bodilsen is a central figure in the Danish jazz scene, not only as a bassist but also as a producer. He has had the privilege of collaborating, since a very young age, with renowned jazz musicians… His participation in Stefano Bollani’s Danish Trio is particularly famous, one of the best-known jazz ensembles globally.
The Danish drummer Martin Maretti Andersen has made a fundamental rhythmic contribution to numerous Scandinavian and international ensembles. He is particularly appreciated for his stylistic and timbral variety.
The Padova Jazz Festival is organized by the Cultural Association Miles, presided over by Gabriella Piccolo Casiraghi, in collaboration with the municipal and regional administrations, with the contribution of Bosco Costruzioni and Volksbank, and with the support of the Ministry of Culture.
