Set in the Goldonian era, “Le innamorate” is a comedy that weaves romantic intrigues and plot twists. Cecilia, an orphaned noblewoman and opera singer, is in financial trouble and must marry to unlock her dowry. With the help of the maid Lucietta, she convinces a ship’s captain, already in love with Rosina, to enter into a marriage of convenience. However, Cecilia truly falls in love with the captain, triggering comedic situations. With brilliant dialogues and a captivating plot, this comedy is a tribute to Goldoni’s genius and the vibrancy of classical theatre.
