The dream of Antonio Pedrocchi is to make “the most beautiful coffee in the world,” but this drink, now so widespread, has a complex and intriguing history, filled with mysteries, legends, anecdotes, and even curses against a use that in its early days pulled men away from the fireplace.
Leading us on this journey to the East first and then to the European capitals will be a female figure,
an Arab who we will discover to be “the aroma,” the essence of coffee.
From the East to Venice, from Paris to London, coffee will allow the actors of teatrOrtaet to transform into the many characters that populate this story. A story about coffee that unfolds between the 15th and 18th centuries, among coffeehouses and coffee cups, between newspapers and sugar cubes, between conspiracies and scenes of domestic life.
