STRAIGHT TO THE HEART – Whore
Sunday, February 8, 7:00 PM – Suspended Cargoes Cultural Circle – Padua
From a Need/Idea by Mirko Corradini – Actress Beatrice Elena Festi – Dramaturgy by Maura Pettoruso
WHORE approaches the topic of sex work with a humane and nonjudgmental perspective, giving voice to stories often relegated to the margins and inviting audiences to question stereotypes, choices, and individual freedoms. A powerful and necessary story, which finds its greatest emotional expression precisely in the immersive dimension.
“WHORE” quickly gained recognition on the international theatre scene: Encore Series Fringe Award – Soho Playhouse New York Summerhall Arts Award – Edinburgh Fringe Prague Nomination – International Theatre Festival Special Mention “Il mondo che si muove” – Livorno. Its selection for the prestigious Encore Series at the Soho Playhouse and subsequent month-long tour to the Edinburgh Fringe (August 2026) confirm the play’s value as a transformative work in contemporary theatre.
When technology meets art: what distinguishes “WHORE” from traditional theater experiences is its pioneering use of real-time spatialized audio technology. Each spectator experiences the show through professional headphones, immersed in a three-dimensional soundscape.
