Padova Urbs Organi Concert
Series Lent Concerts – Organ Vespers at Santa Giustina Saturday
March 7, 5:00 PM
The new Lenten festival of Padova Urbs Organi opens on Saturday, March 7, 2026, with a new addition: Organ Vespers at the Abbey of Santa Giustina at 5:00 PM. The concert is organized in collaboration with the organ class of Maestro Pierpaolo Turetta, professor at the Cesare Pollini Conservatory.
The evening’s protagonists will be Stefano Ferro and Alvise Munarin, brilliant academic students, who will perform music by Johann Sebastian Bach and César Franck, two central figures in the organ repertoire. The program will offer a striking comparison between Bach’s contrapuntal architecture and Franck’s lyrical and intensely expressive vision of late Romanticism.
The initiative is part of a broader restoration and redevelopment project for the Abbey’s Pugina/Michelotto organ, supported by the Cariparo Foundation. The concert also demonstrates the fruitful synergy between the Padova Urbs Organi association, the Abbey of Santa Giustina, and the “Cesare Pollini” Conservatory, united in a shared project aimed at enhancing the organ heritage and promoting young talent.
The Padova Urbs Organi festival is organized under the patronage of the Municipality of Padua, with the support of the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Padua, and in collaboration with Asolo Musica as part of the Cantantibus Organis project, Regional Organ Circuit.
We would like to thank the “Don N. Mazza” College for their collaboration and patronage, the Abbey of Santa Giustina, the C. Pollini Conservatory of Padua, the Armelin music library, and the ITALIARMENIA Association.
Info: All concerts will be held at 5:00 PM. Admission is free.
