Saturday, May 30 new Tartini Exploration, review curated by the Friends of Music of Padua and the Guides of the Tartini2020 Association. This cultural walk (departure at 3:45 p.m., Church of S. Maria dei Servi, via Roma – guided tour requires reservation.) will center around the Church of S. Maria dei Servi, a church rich in notable works of art and which had, like the Basilica of the Saint where Tartini long served as first violin, a close connection with the life of the famous musician. In Padua, which at the time was an extremely important music center at a European level, the Congregation of Musicians was active, and it was precisely at the Church of the Servants that the Funeral Oration in honor of Tartini took place. All of this, along with the lights and shadows of the musician’s life, not devoid of adventurous elements, successes, and defeats, will be the theme of the Exploration, which will then conclude at the place where Tartini is buried, the Church of Santa Caterina, on Via Cesare Battisti. Here, at 5:30 p.m., musicologist Angela Forin will introduce the audience to the concert by violinist Greta Manzardo, who will perform two of Tartini’s “26 Little Sonatas,” a work in which the violin writing opens up to dialogue with poetic language and the sensitivity of the 18th century, an example of a musical language suspended between rhetoric, inner voice, and poetic imagination.
Violinist Greta Manzardo graduated with highest honors from the Conservatory of Castelfranco Veneto. She has recently joined the Frau Musika orchestra conducted by Maestro Andrea Marcon, and has had the opportunity to perform with the Venice Baroque Orchestra and international soloists such as Michael Oman, Avi Avital, Nuria Rial, and Magdalena Kozena. The concert is also held in collaboration with Frau Musika and with the collaboration of CIDIM ETS.
