Second appointment of Music at the Museum Thursday, June 4, at 6:00 p.m., at the Chiostro Albini of the Eremitani Museum in Padua, with a concert entirely dedicated to music for voice and lute between Italy and England in the sixteenth century.
The program pairs compositions by various Italian musicians and lutenists from the early sixteenth century, including Vincenzo Capirola, Bartolomeo Tromboncino, and Alessandro Demofonte, authors of frottole and other types of vocal music, with the two English composers Francis Cutting and John Dowland.
Proposing this interesting program, accompanied by the lute, Silvia Vavassori, singer and expert instrumentalist in the sixteenth-century repertoire. In 2025 she received the National Arts Award in 2025, specifically for the “ancient instruments and voices” section.
