The Piano Festival is a tribute to the innovative genius of Bartolomeo Cristofori, born in Padua on May 4, 1655, who masterfully combined art and technology and “made the instruments speak the language of the heart, now with the delicate touch of an angel, now with a violent surge of passions.”
Cristofori was one of the most famous and important harpsichord builders of his time. Personally invited by Grand Prince Ferdinando de’ Medici, he invented the first models of the piano at the Medici court, revolutionizing the history of music.
Music as a force capable of reviving: people, ideas, sounds, and instruments. The Cristofori Festival 2026 tells of a return to light through the stories of composers who found a way out in music, rediscovering forms and languages of the past projected into the future.
A journey between past and future, memory and rebirth, for all the people for whom music offers comfort, an emotionally important moment, an opportunity for growth, redemption, and healing.
