The jewel as a meeting ground between design and craftsmanship, memory and innovation, personal dimension and reflection on the present. All of this is present in the annual exhibition of the Contemporary Jewelry Association, at the Oratory of San Rocco from September 26 to November 8, 2026, realized with the support of the Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo Foundation.
A narrative of over twenty years of research, experimentation, and technique by AGC, active since 2004 to enhance and spread the culture of contemporary jewelry.
“This exhibition highlights the value of the creative journey developed by AGC over two decades – says Andrea Colasio, Councillor for Culture of the Municipality of Padova – during which high craftsmanship and conceptual thinking have merged to reinterpret the past and look to the future.”
At the Oratory of San Rocco, around a hundred works, by as many members of the Association, express a 360-degree concept of jewelry that transcends its ornamental function to become communication on multiple levels.
“Before any type of classification, categories of art history, design, high craftsmanship – emphasizes Eliana Negroni, president of AGC – the meaning and inner essence of a contemporary jewel is to be a means of communication.”
Each of the works on display, in fact, communicates: it is the expressive medium used by the artists exhibiting here to pose questions, share reflections, feelings, or acts of social protest.
The authors present innovative creations drawn from their most recent productions, crafted with the most diverse materials (metals, fabrics, wood, resins, stones, glass, paper) and techniques, from the oldest goldsmithing practices to digital technologies and 3D printing. A plurality of languages that never loses sight of the goal of combining quality, authenticity, and expressive uniqueness.
