The fifth edition of the theatrical review “Oltre” kicks off on Saturday, November 7, organized and promoted by TOP Teatri Off Padova at Teatro Sanclemente, in the heart of the city’s industrial area.
The initiative’s invitation, as suggested by the title itself, is to look “beyond” the production purpose of the area, recognizing culture as a tool for urban regeneration. The former chiesetta di San Clemente from the 1200s, once the social heart of the neighborhood and now “Teatro Sanclemente,” is indeed today the headquarters of the theatrical cooperative and a space aiming to be a cultural fortress.
There are four theatrical events scheduled, every Saturday in November at 9:00 p.m., and at the end of each, a moment for meeting between the audience, actors, and directors. Among the themes of this edition, at the center is work, from stories of resistance to child labor to cooperative enterprises, the rights of minors and their protection, concluding with a reflection on our time and the “waste” of a society focused on consumption, which does not know how to protect the planet it lives on.
