On Sunday, November 22, “The Bee in the City” returns in the beautiful setting of Prato della Valle in Padua, a festival mainly dedicated to honey and its derivatives. The event is organized by the Patavina Beekeepers Association A.P.A. Pad. and Veneto at the Table, with the patronage of the Municipality of Padua.
The day’s program includes the exhibitions “Honeys of Italy” with over 100 varieties of honey from each region along with descriptive sheets, and “The Life of the Bee,” a series of descriptive panels exploring the work of the bee. Additionally, at the A.P.A. Pad. stand, there will be beekeeping experts available to guide you in discovering bees and the nutritional and gastronomic value of hive products. There will also be free workshops for children and free honey tastings.
For the public, there will also be a rich market called “Goodness & Well-being,” featuring Padua beekeepers and other exhibitors with typical food products, herbal and health-related items, and crafts. On this occasion, the new “Padua Honey produced in the city’s public parks” will also be presented and available for tasting, from the beekeepers of A.p.a. Pad.
The event aims to increasingly raise awareness and appreciation for the properties of honey, integrate it into our daily diet, and especially highlight the importance of bees in plant pollination, even in our territory, and in maintaining environmental biodiversity.
