The CHAOS QUARTET will be the star of the concert on Tuesday, March 10, featuring music by J. Haydn, B. Bartók, and A. Berg as part of the 69th Concert Season of the Amici della Musica di Padova. It is a group of young musicians who studied and live in Vienna.
The Chaos Quartet draws inspiration from the concept of “chaos,” as it manifests in art, science, and philosophy. Like the famous butterfly effect in physics, even a minimal variation in the quartet’s ensemble playing can generate profound transformations in the overall musical balance. The Hungarian roots of the two violinists in the quartet are reflected in their repertoire choices, which have quickly earned the ensemble great appreciation at the international level.
After its debut in 2023 at the Musikverein in Vienna and the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, the quartet has been invited to the most prestigious festivals and has been selected for the 2023-2025 triennium among the BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists, a program that includes exclusive recordings for the BBC and concerts in some of the most prestigious venues in the UK. In Italy, they have already performed in Padova in 2024 as a quartet selected by the European MERITA project within the projects of the Dimore del Quartetto.
Open rehearsal at 10:30 AM, Auditorium Pollini.
