Concert of ancient music for the second appointment of the 69th Concert Season of the Friends of Music of Padua, Tuesday, October 21, at 8:15 PM at the Pollini Auditorium in Padua. The concert program is entirely dedicated to the music of Alessandro Scarlatti, marking the 300th anniversary of his death, and will feature the Serenade for three voices titled Clori, Lidia and Filli. The composition calls for an ensemble of two sopranos and a mezzo-soprano, accompanied by two violins, viola, cello, lute, and harpsichord. And presenting this serenade, which is considered a “unicum” in Alessandro Scarlatti’s production due to its particularities, is the I Bassifondi Ensemble, a group that performs music from the 17th and 18th centuries, both by well-known and lesser-known authors, all approached according to rigorous performance practices and after thorough research of musical sources, returning this music to us in the greatest possible authenticity. The founder and director of the Ensemble is Simone Vallerotonda.
