Discovering the Franciscan Citadel: Culture, Faith, and Charity
Saturday, November 8, 2025 – Padua
The Padovanità Association is organizing a guided tour to discover a delightful place, precious to our city’s historical and artistic tradition. You’ll see the sites of the Franciscan citadel, a medieval hub of the city’s faith, which played a leading role in Padua’s charitable work.
Walking and listening, you will take a journey through time and the history of our city, visiting the Ancient Church of San Francesco and its cloister, the Hall of Charity with its stunning fresco cycle by Dario Varotari, and the Oratory of Santa Margherita, whose current eighteenth-century appearance is due to the work of Tommaso Temanza.
The tour lasts approximately 1.5 hours.
Meeting is at 3:40 PM in Piazza Antenore in front of the tomb of the legendary Antenor.
A contribution of €12 per participant is required (€10 for members), and €6 for children under 12.
Advance booking is required and can be made via WhatsApp at +39 371 6890812.
